Tixel

Tixel is a new non-laser fractional system of skin resurfacing that is based on thermomechanical ablation technology. Using the heat energy, when the tip of the TIXEL touches the skin it causes micro injuries. These micro injuries encourage the body to produce collagen and elastin for a more healthy and supple skin. TIXEL can be used all over the face, including the sensitive skin around the eyes and the neck and that’s why it is the preference of many skin specialists like Dr. Nivedita Dadu.

How is Tixel different from Lasers?

LASERS are a technology based on light. The light from the lasers interacts with the skin and causes effects by heating the skin. TIXEL is based on heat. Tixel transfers heat directly to the skin itself with its patented titanium tips.

Why is Tixel better than Traditional CO2 Lasers?

  • Tixel is a is a non-invasive and comfortable treatment for rejuvenating the skin uses pure heat energy and gives results that are similar to CO2 lasers in return but takes significantly less downtime.

  • Tixel and traditional CO2 lasers work similarly, both deliver pure heat energy to the skin and similar results but TIXEL does not cause the same amount of damage to the internal layers of the skin as lasers.

  • Tixel micropores are free from necrotic tissue unlike the typical micropores present in fractional C02 lasers.

Benefits of Tixel technology for rejuvenating the skin

1. Non-invasive treatment for skin rejuvenation

2. Less pain, low downtime, and rapid healing

3. Transfer of thermal energy to the skin creates micro-craters by evaporation.

4. Safe treatment without sacrificing efficacy

5. Tixel can perform both ablative and non-ablative treatments

How does TIXEL work?

TIXEL uses a Titanium tip with tiny pins made of biocompatible material, having a pyramid like a shape with small contact points which are about 20 microns in size and cover a treatment area of 1cm². The pins are heated to a temperature of 400°C, as similar to the temperature usually generated by other fractional CO? laser beams. The thermal energy stored in the pins is quickly transferred to the skin that will last only a few milliseconds, through a prefixed contact time and contact depth. It can be used at different depths and with different contact times that helps TIXEL to deliver different and effective results.

Using medium penetration and a high contact time that allows TIXEL to work like an ablative laser. It is an ideal solution for giving good improvements in acne scars, stretch marks or fine lines of the skin. It also allows TIXEL for tightening the skin and to treat open pores and fine lines. Using very short contact and very superficial penetration that will help to make open channels in the skin through which actives like (anti aging creams, anti pigmentation creams,Collagen Induction Therapy) and medicines can be easily delivered.

The thermal energy is transferred safely and quickly as compared to the traditional CO2 lasers and the subsequent evaporation of water from the skin occurs resulting in the formation of tiny micropores in the treated sites. This evaporates the upper layers in a controlled manner so that there will be no chance of burns in the tissue. Using pure heat energy, the tip of the Tixel machine partially touches the skin which causes neat, clean micro-injuries.

Where can be TIXEL be used?

Tixel can be used for following treatments because of the different depths and methods of actions such as-

  • Acne scars

  • Open pores

  • Fine lines

  • Skin laxity or skin tightening

  • Skin Rejuvenation

  • Stretch marks

  • Skin resurfacing of moderate to severe wrinkles on the face, upper lips, crow’s feet, cheeks, glabella, forehead, perioral region, full-face, neck, décolleté and hands.

Results

TIXEL is based on pure heat energy. It helps to transfer the heat directly to the skin itself with its patented titanium tips. The advantage of Tixel is that there are no side effects to the eye, so no additional eye protection is required following the procedure. Patients most commonly experience a warm sensation in the target area similar to a sunburn, which will settle down after about an hour following the treatment. The treatment tip at the contact point is only 20 microns, so the down time or redness post treatment lasts less than 48 hours. Also, the post treatment marks are very light in color and can be covered with a tinted sunscreen/makeup.This means the treated persons can go back to their daily work the very next day. It is typically a weekend treatment.

Tixel Treatment for Acne Scars in Delhi – Thermomechanical Skin Resurfacing at Dadu Medical Centre

If you have been looking for an acne scar treatment that delivers results comparable to a fractional CO2 laser but without the longer recovery period that usually comes with it, Tixel thermomechanical acne scar treatment in Delhi at Dadu Medical Centre is a technology worth understanding. Tixel is a relatively newer addition to the world of skin resurfacing and it is fundamentally different from conventional laser treatments in one very important way: it does not use light energy at all. While lasers work by directing beams of light at the skin which then gets converted to heat, Tixel skips the light entirely and transfers heat directly to the skin through physical contact using a titanium tip. This titanium tip is fitted with tiny pyramid-shaped pins made of biocompatible material, each measuring about 20 micrometres at the contact point, arranged to cover a treatment area of one square centimetre. These pins are heated to a temperature of 400 degrees Celsius which is comparable to the temperature generated by fractional CO2 laser beams and the tip is then briefly pressed against the skin in controlled, rapid stamping motions. The thermal energy is transferred from the pins to the skin in just a few milliseconds, creating micro-injuries in a fractional pattern across the treated area. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin's natural repair response, which includes the production of new collagen and elastin in the deeper skin layers. Over time, as this new collagen forms and matures, the depressed areas of acne scars gradually fill in, the skin surface becomes smoother, and the overall texture and firmness of the skin improves. At Dadu Medical Centre, one of the reputed acne scar treatment clinics in Delhi, Dr. Nivedita Dadu uses Tixel as part of her preferred treatment toolkit for acne scars particularly appreciating its ability to treat even the more delicate and sensitive areas of the face such as the skin around the eyes and the neck, which many laser devices cannot safely reach. The clinic is situated at Vasant Vihar in South Delhi and Rajouri Garden in West Delhi, and Tixel treatment for acne scars is performed under full medical supervision with settings customised for each patient's skin type and scar depth.

One of the most practical aspects of Tixel that patients find reassuring when they first learn about it is how the technology compares to CO2 laser, one of the most well-known treatments for acne scars in Delhi. Fractional CO2 laser works by creating columns of ablated skin tissue using laser energy, which delivers strong collagen remodelling results but also requires a recovery period of three to five days during which the skin is visibly red and in a healing phase. Tixel generates heat of a similar magnitude through direct thermal contact rather than laser ablation, which means the skin responds with a similar level of collagen production and remodelling but because the heat transfer happens so rapidly and in such a controlled, fractional manner, the surrounding skin tissue is protected and the healing process is significantly faster. Most patients treated with Tixel for acne scars experience minimal downtime, mild redness and a slight warming sensation that settles within twenty-four to forty-eight hours in most cases. This makes Tixel a highly practical acne scar treatment in Delhi for people who need visible improvement but simply cannot take several days away from their professional or personal responsibilities. The device is also notable for its built-in safety for the eyes unlike lasers, Tixel does not emit any light that could pose a risk to the eyes, which means no specific eye protection is needed during the procedure and the periocular area the skin right around the eyes can be treated directly and safely. This is an important advantage for people whose acne scarring extends close to the eye area or for those who also want improvement in fine lines and skin quality in the under-eye and crow's feet region alongside their scar treatment.

The adjustability of the Tixel device is another reason it is favoured by skin specialists at Dadu Medical Centre. Because the contact time and contact depth of the titanium tip can be set to different levels, the same device can be used across a wide spectrum of treatment intensities. At a lower contact time and shallower depth, Tixel functions like a non-ablative treatment warming the deeper dermal tissue to stimulate collagen without creating any visible surface disruption, ideal for patients who want gradual improvement with absolutely no downtime. At a medium depth and higher contact time, it begins to function more like an ablative laser creating micro-craters on the skin surface through vaporisation of the outermost skin layer, which drives stronger and faster collagen remodelling. This flexibility allows the treating dermatologist to match the intensity of the treatment to the severity of the patient's acne scars and to the amount of downtime they can manage, giving a tailored experience that standardised laser settings cannot always provide. For patients with moderate acne scarring who can tolerate a day or two of mild redness, the medium-intensity protocol delivers very good results over a course of sessions. For those with milder scarring or those prepping for an event, the lighter protocol gives a skin quality improvement with virtually no visible recovery.

The procedure at the acne scar clinic in Delhi at Dadu Medical Centre begins with thorough cleansing of the treatment area. A numbing cream is applied and left for thirty to forty-five minutes to keep the patient comfortable during the session. Once the skin is adequately numb, the Tixel handpiece is applied across the treatment area in a systematic stamping motion the preset protrusion depth ensures that each contact delivers an even, controlled amount of heat to the skin. The session typically takes thirty to forty-five minutes for the face, depending on the area being treated. After the procedure, the skin may appear mildly pink and feel warm. A soothing post-care product and sunscreen are applied before the patient leaves the clinic. Most patients are able to return to normal activities within a day. Dr. Nivedita Dadu typically recommends three to five sessions spaced three to four weeks apart for acne scars, with the exact number depending on how deep and how widespread the scarring is. Patients are asked to follow simple aftercare apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen every day, avoid harsh scrubbing or actives on the treated skin for a few days, keep the skin moisturised, and avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area. With consistent sessions and proper aftercare, Tixel for acne scars in Delhi delivers progressive, visible, and lasting improvement that many patients find both satisfying and worth the minimal effort involved in the recovery process.
