How to choose the best face wash?

Everyone desires blemish-free, smooth, and glowing skin. Skincare routine plays an important role in maintaining skin health and glow. The face wash is the first step in the skincare routine, but with a wide range of cleansers available, it is very hard to pick the right one according to the skin type. Face wash essentially helps to get rid of dirt, sweat, sebum, bacteria, dead skin cells, and makeup. It makes the skin surface free of any harmful problem, which causes damage to the skin. By choosing the right face wash according to the skin type, it is highly important to cleanse the face correctly. Some cleansers can clog pores, while a drying face wash can irritate the skin.

Harsh products can cause skin drying and damage to the skin. One must seek help of a dermatologist in choosing the right face wash according to the skin type. Also, the skin of males and females varies widely in texture, so the face wash or cosmetic products also vary.

Face wash helps in keeping the skin look amazing and healthy. Proper washing of the face prevents clogged pores formation as the clogged pores are the main root of trouble for skin problems. Face wash also prevents the formation of whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, blemishes, and acne. A good face wash helps remove dirt and other pollutants from the skin without completely drying out the skin if used according to one's skin type.

Using a Face washaccording to skin type:

For dry skin

People with dry skin must use a face wash, which is a gentle cleanser with moisturizing ingredients. Face wash for dry skin will clean the skin and leave a thin film of moisture on it. People with dry skin must look for a hypoallergenic cleanser, free of fragrance, chemicals, alcohol, and non-foaming properties. They must also look for creams or milk-based cleansers to protect natural skin oil and prevent further skin drying. They must avoid using antibacterial face washes which contain exfoliators such as salicylic or glycolic acid. These can dry out the skin extremely.

For oily skin

Oily skin is characterized by excess production of sebum and is more prone to breakouts. One must look for a face wash, which is an oil-free foaming face wash and does not block pores. Face wash, which contains salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, can prevent breakouts. The ideal face wash for oily skin includes ingredients like aloe vera and tea tree oil. These are mild ingredients that balance oil production and clear the skin. The face wash does not leave the skin feeling dry and tight. One with oily skin must avoid face washes that contain oil or alcohol. People with oily skin can wash their face twice a day with salicylic acid-based face washes.

For sensitive & combination skin

For sensitive and combination skin type one must look for a mild cleansing face wash, removing dirt and grease and holding the natural sebum. For this skin type, ultra-gentle face wash must be used. Individuals must apply fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, and soap-free face wash that does not irritate the skin.

Different skin types demand different type of face washes and thus it is necessary to use a suitable face wash preferably recommended by an expert dermatologist. Chemical cleaning ingredients will irritate and dry out the facial skin. Excessive cleansing with face wash does more damage than good, just once or twice a day is enough. One must make a note that the face washes designed for males and females are different. The female and male skin type is different, so one must use a product that is designed for them.
